As I sit here in front of a computer trying to figure out how to express my thoughts, I realize that had I been writing this only 20 years ago I would be at a table with a pen and paper somewhere, with not even a dream that thousands of people would be, or could possibly be, reading these words. But somewhere, somehow, someone extended the little lines of solder that connect a keyboard to a screen; extended it across oceans and across mountains, and now my little scrap of paper can be read, and my intentions heard.
I am not alone in this wish and in this need. In a world where money gives power, and opens all doors to more money and power, something as simple as this little stretched piece of solder that permits the existence of what we call the internet has become the megaphone of the meek. Those who were not heard before may now say their piece. In cyberspace, the man with five dollars in his pocket speaks as loud as the man with five million.
The idea behind this company is to give the floor to those artists who have something to say, and who are willing to do what it takes to say it. It was and is not an easy endeavor—there are those that would have it stopped before it is even begun. We could buy the rights to a library of CDs and brag about all the different titles we have...but quantity is not the point, and so we’ve started with just one. You see, what we sell here is not just music on a CD, but a part of somebody’s life, a part of someone’s soul. A part that someone not only wants to share, but needs to, as we all do.
So when your order from us, look carefully in your package, because there will nearly always be something more than the music. What makes us meek is what makes all humans meek, and all the money and power in the world cannot hide forever the meekness that has something important to say.
Something that touches us all simply because we’re human.
